Here's a great little singing group that worked out of The Little Country Missionary Baptist Church, Norwood, Ohio.

  1. The Little Country Trio consisted of: J.J. Hutson (my father), Loman Jeffers, (my uncle) and Norma Jeffers (my aunt). They recorded a total of 5 albums together plus several 45rpms on which my father played mandolin. Me, my brother, sister and cousins had a very unique childhood traveling on the road to singing engagements from Ohio, Indiana, KY., and TN.

    2. They are amazing at what they do! I only started listening to them a few months back and the songs are constantly stuck in my head! I haunt seen music like that since hank Williams and older... to bad this generation is missing out on great talent... I seem a o be the only 14 year old who listens to this stuff... anyway stay strong and keep up the great work!

    3. Sadly, my father and great uncle have passed away. There is only one surviving member left.

    4. Hello Latisha! I tried to email you at the contact you listed below (msgibson@insightbb.com), but the system will not allow me to send you an email there. Do you possibly have a different email/form of contact? The music your family created and gave us is some beautiful/powerful stuff :) Thanks and take care

  3. Mr. Betcher, my sister passed your blog link to me yesterday. Our dad, Jesse, played guitar on the sample you've posted. As I am, I belive he would have been humbled to know that people like his music. Music was a big part of my dad's life. He tragically succumbed to lung cancer after a five year battle with the disease in 1991. Our great aunt Norma is still activley singing at 76 years of age. Thank you for posting this sampling of my dad and aunt.
    Respectfully,
    Jim Hutson

    1. Loman and Norma are my great aunt and uncle and Jess was married to my grandmother's sister. I can honestly say these people were not only great singers but they each lived their lives for Christ. As a child growing up at the Little Country Missionary Baptist Church they each made an impact on my life that I can't put into words. Thanks for posting their songs.

  4. For anyone still searching for more of this music, I was able to obtain and upload their second to last album to my youtube channel. No relation to the family, but the Little Country Trio is cherished in my circle of musician friends.
