Bobby Grove Sings
Ten Thousand Angels
Oak LP 700
Here's another gospel vocalist I found on a rare little record label called Oak. Oak records was located in Harrison, Ohio. In an earlier post I featured an outstanding vocalist who made a record on Oak, Sue Cox. This album is somewhat like the Cox LP in that it features a fine country gospel vocalist backed up by an very good band.
I've found two Bobby Grove albums to post. There is absolutely no information to be found on this jacket, but check this post for more information or link to Grove's website. Grove has made a ton of records and apparently he stored the stock and is selling the remaining LPs on his site. You can buy this record, although the cover photo is different for a very reasonable $10 which includes shipping and handling. It's fantastic that you can buy these NOS records from the original artist.

This blog features the many gospel albums I find. 90% of the records featured here were created by local Cincinnati, Ohio area artists (on Jewel, Rite and Queen City record labels among others). Here you will find the Good, Bad & Ugly but never The Lackluster! If there are copyright issues or a problem with any post, just contact me and I will make corrections. I'm here to have fun and hope you will share in my process of discovery!
Bobby Grove pastored a church in Hamilton Ohio. My dad and mom attended this church in their final years.
