This blog features the many gospel albums I find. 90% of the records featured here were created by local Cincinnati, Ohio area artists (on Jewel, Rite and Queen City record labels among others). Here you will find the Good, Bad & Ugly but never The Lackluster! If there are copyright issues or a problem with any post, just contact me and I will make corrections. I'm here to have fun and hope you will share in my process of discovery!

In about 1982 i was selling books in Pike County Ohio door to door and kept hearing about the "singing Roar family" and went to their house in a holler and they invited me in as i told them i was a banjo player and they invited me to play and we had an impromptu jam session and played music. They were really good but i could keep up. I remember they had a moma cat with a liter of baby racoons nursing. They were sweet people and the real deal and were kind to a homesick young man from Texas feeling a bit lost in those hills. A good memory Can't believe i just found their music on the internet.
I'd sure like to hear a few more cuts from this album
