Helen Cox Sings And Plays Songs Of The Master

Songs Of The Master

Helen Cox Sings And Plays Songs Of The Master
Phyliss Farmer Organist
RCA Custom Recording Division
HC 1001

From the back cover: Songs of the Master are presented by Helen Cox, Evangelist and Gospel singer. In this album you will find some of her choicest songs that she sings nightly in revival campaigns. She and Mabel Brown, also an Evangelist, have traveled extensively in the Evangelistic field. They are better known as the Cox and Brown Evangelistic team. Miss Cox was stricken with Infantile Paralysis at the age of 14 and spent one year in the hospital. It was during this time that God spoke to her about eternal values and where she would spend enternity. Miss Cox plays the electric guitar, accordion and piano. In this album she is playing the electric guitar and is accompanied by her niece, Miss Phyliss Farmer at the organ.

The Southlanders Sing Family Bible

The Angels Must Have Cried
The Southlanders Sing Family Bible
Recorded at Jewel Recording Studios - Mt. Healthy, Ohio
Engineered and Produced by Rusty York
Jewel Records LPM 120

From the back cover: The Southlanders have selected for this album some of their favorite gospel songs. They are performed by a group that sings with great meaning. Each member of the group knows the Savior of whom they sing through their own personal experience. The title song is an old one, and very beautiful in itself, but the Southlanders add new meaning and inspiration in the form of a recitation written by Jason Roberts and given in the song by his brother, Reverend Ronnie Roberts.

Now to meet the Southlanders: singing lead we have Basil Sutton and Wayne Simpson; backing them up in close harmony we have Lenora Roberts, Connie Sutton, and Janet Roberts; singing bass we have Reverend Don Dwinell; and last, but not least, we have our alto singer who started the group and presently manages it, Reverend Ronnie Roberts. At the piano we have Wanda Dwinell; playing lead guitar is Homer England; playing bass guitar is Cliff Crabtree. Each and every member joins me in saying we hope that in some way this album will be a blessing to you.

Rite Records - Cincinnati, Ohio
RITE Sides #21252 & 21256

David Creech - Lead Guitar
Ruben Baker - Banjo
Darrell Miller - Mandolin
Charles Helton - Bass
Rhythm Guitar - Mortan Gibson

From the back cover: We at ADCO Records are proud to introduce to the many Christian people, as well as the many lovers of good gospel songs, "THE GIBSON GOSPEL SINGERS."

Mortan Gibson is the leader of the group, and I feel is doing the work of the Lord, for His people, that He gave His life for, on the cross.

Both Mortan and his wife are members of the Free Pentecostal Church of God. Mrs. Gibson is an ordained minister in the church.

We feel that everyone in this day, as we look around us at the shape the world is in, should draw nearer to God and listen to the great message that you will receive from the songs of God. As Mortan told me while he was here recording this album, both he and his wife enjoy singing and working for God. He also said he was so proud to have a group of people such as Christian boys, that are helping him to do the good gospel songs of God.

"THE GIBSON GOSPEL SINGERS" are traveling all over the country singing and working for God's cause in various churches throughout the country. Mortan was born in Leslie County, Kentucky. His wife, Bethelene, was born in Clay County, Kentucky.

I would like to ask you one and all to go out and buy and promote God's work. For myself I want to thank all the gospel D. J. 's all over the country for helping us here at ADCO to promote good gospel music. I am sure God will bless you for it.

Here is wishing "THE GIBSON GOSPEL SINGERS" the best with their first recording on ADCO Records.

Anyone wanting to purchase this album may contact our Adco Distributors, or write to Adco Records and we will see that you get them in your area.

You may play this L. P. on Stero as well as Mono.

Sincerely yours,

Jack Adkins - A&R ADCO Records Cincinnati, Ohio 45243
