I Can't Stand By My Self - The Gibson Gospel Singers

I Can't Stand By Myself (full album)
I Can't Stand By My Self
12 Gospel Songs Old & New
The Gibson Gospel Singers
ADCO Records LP-101
Rite Records - Cincinnati, Ohio
Sides #21252 & 21256

From the back cover: The Gibson Gospel Singers are traveling all over the country singing and working for God's cause in various churches throughout the country. Mortan was born in Leslie County, Kentucky. His wife, Bethelene, was born in Clay County, Kentucky.

This is a very fine and obscure example of southern gospel, so I've posted the entire album rather than a single sample track.

Enjoy.

  2. My dad played on this record. (David Creech - Lead Guitar) He passed away last October 19th. Would it be possible to buy a few copies of this for my and my siblings? We don't have anything of him playing. Thanks so much!

  3. Wow. I can't believe I found this! My name is Dan Gibson and Mortan and Bethelene Gibson is my Mother and Dad. Mom has passed away but Dad is still singing. I've got an old copy of this record. They did several more recordings later on as well. Great post! I knew David Creech as well. He was a great guitar player!
