ReplyDeleteHixson was our last name, and Hixson Tennessee was named after my families original settlement there.
Deleteoh dear, are they all tone deaf? Thank your for sharing this exceptional work of musical talent! It urges me to put my hair in curlers, don my faded housecoat and furry slippers, start chain smoking and drinking whiskey all day, and play this over and over and over. Life will then truly have meaning!
ReplyDeleteThe lady sitting on the right was my mother, & i do not appreciate this post or your comment!!!
DeleteThis is my mother and sister along with friends singing. The album sounds a bit warped, but non the less still a blessing. They were not tone deaf, they were not singing for fame but for their love for God. I so miss my precious mother, and my beautiful sister Sheilah. And I don’t need to Wear fluffy house shoes, or a big faded House rope or drink a bottle of whiskey and definitely not smoke to listen to them over and over again which I do often and it brings joy to my heart. I love that I can go and search and find their music somewhere. I only wish I had the albums, more of them anyway, so that I could give each of my children one. Thank you for posting the song. I know my mother affectionately known as 'Mama Jean' is smiling right now.
