My Testimony Of How God Healed Me Of Cancer

Weary Backslider
The Evangelist Harley Hensley

Local Covington, Kentucky Evangelist Harley Hensley lived to the ripe old age of 79.

The A side features the "testimony". Side B features a number of nice country gospel tracks. The sample track is sung by Barbara Ballard.

Apparently Hensley released this album several times.

I found this matrix information on the record: Rite 692 Log Cabin 17411

I don't know what "Log Cabin" stands for. I've never seen an actual word written out on a Rite record.

From the back cover: Recording on this album with Reverend Hensley are four of his children: Dennis, playing electric guitar, Judy, singing "Let We Walk With You Jesus," Barbara, singing "Weary Backslider" and "Where The Roses Never Fade," and Jesse, singing "How Can You Refuse Him Now." A close friend of the family, Orangie Ray Hubbard, played electric bass on the album. Drums were played by Jackie Gibbs, steel guitar, by Ray Wilson, and piano, by Denny Rice.

Hensley was from Ft. Thomas, KY.

  1. Log Cabin was a subsidiary of Jewel Records owned by Rusty York, out of Mt. Healthy, Ohio. This is confirmed by the client number 692.

Thanks for posting the Rite numbers info, always useful.

  2. Harley Hensley was my great-great uncle. Is his testimony wrote on this album cover?

  3. As I remember, I believe the testimony is expressed on the album itself.
