I have looked everywhere for something on The Singing North's Family. I have their record Something Old Something New Something Different. Do you know if they still sing??
ReplyDeleteNo, I do not know if they are still singing. It seems like most of the groups I've posted in this blog are long lost to history.
DeleteI would love to know where any of this family are now. They used to sing at a church in Columbus OH - Sonshine Mission - very special family!!
ReplyDeleteHello - I came across Mrs. North's obituary today and thought I would share it with you on this blog. I never knew that I lived 1/2 hour from where she lived. I sure would have enjoyed getting to meet with with all of them again.

I also found Bro. North's obituary today. For some reason this family is strongly on my mind today so I will pray for them. The North's were an awesome bunch.

I grew up going to the Corwin Penecostal Church & i remember the North Family coming to sing at our church. They were awsome & very spiritual. I am very sorry to hear about their mother passing away.
ReplyDeleteOMGoodness. I have looked and looked for the Singing Norths. What wonderful memeories of their annointed singing throughout the miami Valley. I would love to attend a reunion of the Norths. Last I heard Sharon and her husband have a church in Middletown Ohio. I also grew up in Waynseville and attended the Corwin Pentecostal Church and rememeber the Norths often at the church and we knew we were in for a Shoutin time service. Thansk for this blog.. ReplyDeleteHave been looking for information on The Singing North Family. Saw on facebook a pic of The North Band with Winford in the lead of the pic, looked like maybe Karen was in it also. If anyone has more info would love to contact them. Miss them coming to our home.
ReplyDeleteMy brother David traveled and played the piano for this group for s short period of time. They were surely annointed singers and very talented.
ReplyDeleteI came back to this site to check on updated information on the North Family. I would love to see all the 'kids' - grown up of course now. What a beautiful family!!! I hope they have continued singing for the Lord.
ReplyDeleteWow I love this family too..I have one of their records..
ReplyDeleteSaw them sing last night at Solid Rock's Cowboy Church at Lawrence Bishop's! What a privilege to have them there! Spoke with them afterwards and purchased their latest cd. They were so kind to me!
ReplyDeleteSharon is outstanding person and a great vocalist. She works with a hospice group and sings to her patients. You can't help falling in love with her voice. God Bless you Sharon!
ReplyDeleteSaw them at the Burnwell Church of the Nazarene here in West Virginia in the 1970's
ReplyDeleteThey sang a couple weeks ago at a Baptist church in Eastgate Ohio.
ReplyDeleteWhere can I purchase their music?
ReplyDeleteYou can find Karen on FB under Karen Foster. I grew up right across the street from them and they were wonderful people. Their oldest son (he didn’t sing) was married to my Mother’s sister for many years so the North’s grandkids are my cousins. Not sure how to contact the other kids but Karen was always my favorite.
