Sammy Hall Singers

All Things Are New
Sammy Hall Singers
All Things Are New
Christian Folk

There are a few great tracks like Sammy's Drug Testimony and Groovin' With Jesus.

From the back cover: "They (Sammy Hall Singers) don't believe in messing up people's minds or playing with their emotions. They have a truth that is greater than just sheer stark reality."

  1. I have never forgotten when Sammy and his singer brought his crusade to our high school in Pascagoula, Mississippi back in the early 70s. His testimony has stood out to me over the last 30 plus years. Unfortunately, I remember the testimony (and its impact upon me) more so than the actual songs, though I remember being touched by the songs as well.

  2. I was related to Sammy, distant cousin. Sammy was a former lead singer for a up and coming group called the Birdwatchers -- out of Miami. When he became converted to Christianity, he quit rock-n-roll and dedicated himself solely to Christian music. I knew him in the early years. He came from a good Christian family. His 2 sisters -- Voncille and Burnice -- joined him and they formed the Sammy Hall Singers. They did quite well actually, and were considered trail blazers in the Contemporary Christian music scene. They fronted for the Oak Ridge Boys during these days in the early 70's -- when the Oaks were still singing Gospel.
Sammy made many record albums, most of them recorded at the famous Woodland Studio in Nashville -- utilizing the same musicians that played on Linda Rondstadt records (among several others).
Sammy was involved in Amway from the start of his Gospel career -- to supplement his income. He used to set up his Amway products right next to his record racks in the vestebule entrance at the churches they played at.
There's a lot to tell about Sammy. He was a great singer and writer, and a devout Christian. Sammy passed away last year with cancer. He is missed greatly by his family and legions of friends and fans...

  3. Oh my goodness, I did not know Sammy was gone. I ran across one of my 8 tracks of him the other day and was thinking of how I used to love to listen to his music. I attended many of his concerts in my teens and up to early 30's, from Church of God Camp meeting to theater venues in Ohio, what an awesome concert they gave! His music was such a blessing to so many. i have many of his albums and loved them all. He was surely Hooked on a Good Thing! What a fore runner for today's gospel music! I am sad to hear he is gone.
