The Hymnals gave credit to Ernest Sharp on the back cover for this curious "folk art" drawing.
The record features fairly standard gospel vocals, harmonies and arrangements with the exception of the second track on the A side. For some reason, on this track, The Hymnals get a bit "psyched" out. I also found the overall engineering to be unusual in that all of the vocals are a little heavy on the reverb and seem "suppressed" or muted while the instruments more crisp and in the foreground. I only mention it because the vocals seem detached like the ghostly quality of the cover drawing.
