Everybody Wants To Go To Heaven
The Looper Trio
I Don't Want To Get Adjusted To This World
Midwest Gospel Sound Records, Dayton, Ohio
The Loopers released 6 albums based on the information found on the back cover of this LP and from several albums I've found posted online.
The Loopers are a fine blue grass/country gospel act out of Monterey, Tennessee. Brenda is credited on the album for the solo on the sample I've posted. Most of the songs feature nice harmonies, but Brenda is the standout talent on this album.
Oral Looper, Brenda's father passed away in 2001. Coleman Looper is also mentioned on the back cover.

This is an album of my father,Oral Looper, sister, Brenda Ray and my uncle Coleman Looper. Great to see my Dad is still remembered for his work for the Lord!! Several years after this record our family branched out with 5 more records with Dad, Brenda another sister Louise, my brother Ferrel and myself. Dad and my brother Ferrel have gone on to be with the Lord.I'm still working for the Lord pastoring a church and singing with my daughters. God Bless you all
ReplyDeleteMy Father, Coleman Looper, still sings (and is a preacher too) with my mother, Marie, my sister, Candy Bear, and brother-in-law Jeremy Bear. Uncle Oral and cousin Brenda (Oral's daughter) made up this group. As mentioned by Freddie Looper, it is great to see someone still knows them. Coleman Looper can be reached at www.colemanlooperfamily.com

ReplyDeleteI grew up listening to the Loopers we would go watch them perform at our church. Beautiful childhood memories of them. I would love to purchase their music to share with my children and grandchildren. I remember as a teenager Brenda Ray and her husband or brother not sure which came to my aunts house in Ga and sang for our family. I would love to hear hem all again. If anyone knows where I can purchase their music please let me know.

Does anyone know where I can get a set of albums by the Looper Trio? I have looked everywhere and even contacted Coleman Looper himself and they don't have any.
